“You have to beat the best teams in the end of the year because they don’t get beat by the lesser teams” Geno Auriemma. Stanford and Baylor showed supreme dominance against the lesser teams in route to the Final Four now one of them will become the lesser team.
Baylor is trying to put the finishing touches on something no team has ever done go 40-0 and they don’t want to lose their first game of the season now. Baylor’s goals will be a two for one, can’t have one without the other. 40-0 = 2012 NCAA Champs..
Stanford is trying to rid themselves of the stat of consistently making the Final Four and losing. In their Fifth consecutive Final Four they are looking to finnally get over the hump.
Baylor as we all know has the women’s basketball game changer in the 6’8 Brittney Griner. They also have a show stopper in Odyssey Sims. I call her the show stopper because she has broken down every defense that coaches have tried to come up with to contain Griner. There isn’t a team out there that’s been close to making a show against them, but they haven’t played Stanford yet.
Stanford is playing with a chip on their shoulders and no one may have bigger shoulders to carry the chip than Ogwumike (Nneka) . The passion and effort she plays with far compliments her talent level. As she goes Stanford goes. She just needs Stanford to make outside shots tomorrow. If they make their outside shots tomorrow the underdogs will definitely come out on top.
Ogwumike and Griner are Houston natives and familiar high-school and AAU rivals. Now the David and Goliath match-up is on the biggest stage in their career thus far.
“I haven’t played against Brittney in my college career yet and I want to; I’ve been wanting to. This is going to be fun.” Nneka Ogwumike. Interesting quote almost as interesting as my prediction.
I have Stanford winning tomorrow and Baylor finishing as the lesser team. It’s not match-ups or coaches Simply put I just think it’s Stanford’s time and Baylor may not perform as well with all the pressure being on them. That’s my preview. That’s my prediction.
thank you Chastity. GO BAYLOR!
I often pull for the underdogs. I’m certainly looking forward to a Griner/N. Ogwumike matchup. And I expect for Ogwumike to lead her team. However, I don’t see Griner, Sims, and the rest of the Bears not dominating. My mother always stated that on any given night, any given team can beat you. But this is Baylor’s 40-0 season. I guess we will see what happens at 8:30pm tomorrow. If Stanford prevails, you called it. Either way it will be a good game.
